Aubie the tiger

Aubie the Tiger!
Aubie is one of the most known traditions in Auburn. He has won countless of "Mascot of the year" awards. Aubie is the mascot of Auburn University and the fans LOVE them some Aubie Tiger. Aubie comes to every game of Auburns and hypes up the crowd and even helps the marching band sometimes. He also is known for dressing up which is unlike any other mascot. Aubie dresses up as a Plainsman, football player, basketball player, even a cow at the Chick-fil-a bowl game.

The Creed

The Auburn Creed
The Auburn Creed is a promise Auburn University upholds from all of its students, staff, alumni, and fans. It is a promise to be dutiful and respectful to not just the Auburn family, but to all. This statement speaks volumes of what it is means to be an Auburn man and woman. It is powerful in so many aspects; goes beyond the University and reaches out to all of life itself such as "believing in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellowmen and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all". That is so powerful to say what it means to be an Auburn man or woman. The Auburn Creed has so much respect in the Auburn community because we know that this is what it means to stand for Auburn.

WAR EAGLE!

The Eagle
Auburn's Nova is a huge part of Auburn's many traditions. Before each game Nova flies around the stadium in a circle and goes down to the football field. While Nova flies around the fans yell out "Warrrrrrrrr, Eagle! HEY!". This is also the saying of the fans when greeting each other or to shout Auburn spirit. Nova is taken care of by Auburn University and probably has a better life than most humans do.

A tradition to remember- Toomers Corner

A Tradition to Remember- Toomers Corner

Although the Oaks of Toomers Corner will be taken out of the ground and put to rest it is a wonderful tradition at Auburn. During the 2011-2012 football season the oak trees were poisoned by a man named Harvey Updyke, a man who claims to have "just to much bama" inside of him. Although Alabama is our instate rival, being a fan has nothing to do with vandalizing property.

After every win the Auburn family meets to roll the trees at Toomers Corner. It has been a tradition for many years and will always be a huge part of Auburn. During the final rolling which I was able to happily be a part of, Auburn fans had a celebration of the tradition and what it means to be a part of the Auburn family.

Auburn, the city that lives inside of you.

Auburn is a small town with many traditions that anybody would be lucky to be a part of. Auburn fans bleed orange and blue and believe in the Auburn Creed. Coming to Auburn is not an experience it is something that becomes a part of your life forever. We greet each person as family by shouting "war eagle!" to those near by in Auburn or Alaska. We pride ourselves in being kind hearted people with a love for Auburn that is like no other college around.

This spring Auburn has been hard at work bringing a new day to the Plains. The new head coach Gus Malzahn is bringing back the fast paste, no huddle offense to the Auburn Tigers just like the 2010 National Championship year, and it will be fun to watch for sure. For more information on spring practice AUfamily is a great website to refer to.

This blog is about all of the traditions that the Auburn community takes part in as well as updated information about the Auburn family.
